INSCRIBED COLT MODEL 1877 THUNDERER DA REVOLVER. Cal 41 Colt. SN 44390. Usual configuration, nickel finish with 6” bbl and rampant Colt hard rubber grips. The left side of the bbl is inscribed in electric pencil script lettering “Deputy Sheriff/HO Robinson Marshall County Marshalltown Iowa” with the date “1932” near the muzzle. This inscription was applied through the nickel. It is accompanied by a Heiser style, carved leather, 2-loop holster with plain cartridge belt marked “Heiser”, 30-cartridge loops containing 30-cartridges with a nickel silver, D-shaped buckle. CONDITION: Good to very good. Retains 75-80% strong original nickel with some light pitting at the muzzle and flaking on the right side of the frame. Left grip is very worn with a large nick and the right grip shows heavy wear. Strong bore with fine pitting. Mechanics need attention, will not always function on dbl action. Holster is dark and oil stained with a repair by the top loop. Belt is dry with a crackle surface. 4-50655 JR923 (1,000-1,500)
