COLT POCKET NAVY CONVERSION REVOLVER. Cal. 38 RF. SN 169. Early revolver made as a cartridge model with 4-1/2” oct bbl, rebated 5-shot cylinder with 1-pc walnut grips. CONDITION: Very fine. All matching except the cylinder pin, which is numbered “170” and probably an assembler’s mistake and the wedge, which is properly unnumbered. Bbl retains 65-70% flaked glossy blue with the flaked areas of light patina. Cylinder has an old restored finish with light pitting on the front and retains about 75% stagecoach holdup scene. Frame retains most of its original case colors, bright on the right side, more faded on the left and turning gray on the recoil shield. Trigger guard retains about 75% original silver, thin on the trigger bow and front strap. Back strap retains about 80% original varnish, slightly thinned about the middle. Grips are extremely fine with light scratches and a couple of scratches and retains most of their original bright varnish. Mechanics are crisp.
