*SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MODEL 1903 MARK 1. Cal. 30. SN 1040577. This rifle is a good example of a WWI, barreled action that was rebuilt and restocked for WWII. It has as “10-18” bbl date and is equipped with WWII scant stock with 03-A3 bbl bands. CONDITION: Bbl action and WWI bolt retain approx 95% of a grey-green arsenal Parkerizing. Rear sight is still complete WWI with the blackish blue finish. Front sight is typical 03, but re-parkerized with the bbl. Trigger guard assembly is 03 and retains 98% of a dark grey Parkerizing, while the floorplate retains 98% of a green Parkerizing. Bbl bands are 03-A3 Remington and retain 98% of the blue. Buttplate is also 03 A3 Remington and retains 95% of the blue with some very light rust spots scattered. Sling is a well used, Boyt 44 leather sling. Buttstock and hand guard are both WWII, in excellent condition with minor wear, and no dents. Buttstock retains an “SA” over “GAW” cartouche with both cross cannon and circle “P” proof mark. Mechanics are excellent and bore is bright and shiny. This is a very unique version of a rebuild. Edwards Collection 4-58517 BK41 (600-1,000)
