*SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MODEL 1903 A1 RIFLE. Cal. 30. SN 1509036. This is an example of a rebuilt 03 service rifle circa mid 30’s that was re-barreled in “11-42”. It is equipped with a British type web sling. Rifle was mounted in a C stock and overall shows to be a very nice gun. This rifle comes with a Winder tube sight that is not installed nor does it have the wood spacer or the rear mounting bracket. It is just the tube sight with the front type cover sight clamp on it. CONDITION: Receiver retains approx. 98% of a dark grey Parkerizing presumably done at the time of re-barreling. Bolt assembly retains approx. 95% of the same Parkerizing with the cocking and safety assembly having more of a dark green tint. Rear sight assembly is 03 A1 with about 90% orig finish. Bbl is a “SA” “11-42” with a dark -grey-green orig finish showing better than 90% with a mint bore. Front and middle bands are both dark-grey Parkerizing and showing about 90% orig finish. Trigger guard and floorplate assembly, also being dark grey in color, show about 90% finish. C-stock is in excellent condition with only 2 or 3 minor blemishes and a “RRA” double stamped into the left side of the receiver and 2 “P’s”, one open directly behind the trigger guard, and one in a box on the heel of the pistol grip. Upper hand guard is a National Match, with the drawing board number of “D28179” and is in excellent condition with 1 or 2 very light scratches in it. Overall a very nice shooter or a good example of a rebuild for a collection. Winder tube sight is in good condition retaining approx. 65% of its orig finish with no dents or dings in it.
