MARLIN MODEL 1894 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. SN 108030. Cal. 25RF. 24″ oct bbl with German silver blade Rocky Mountain front sight and Rocky Mountain rear sight. Bbl does not have the usual caliber marking on the bbl forward of the receiver. Top flat is marked “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN. CT. U.S.A. / PATENTED. OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUGUST 1. 1893.”. Standard case colored receiver with top marked “MARLIN SAFETY”. Top tang marked “Model / 1894”. Straight grip rifle stock and rifle forend of straight grained American walnut with first type crescent steel buttplate. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection. CONDITION: Overall fine. Good bbl blue with spots of discoloration, mag tube has blue in protected areas blending with patina. Receiver has vivid case colors on the sides blending with patina on the top tang, bottom of receiver and bottom of lever. Some action screws show screwdriver marks. Stock has hairline grain crack on the left side. Forend is sound, stock and forearm have very good finish with normal handling marks. Mechanics are crisp with bore having strong rifling and darkening in the grooves. 4-40400 DS46 (2,000-3,000)
