HENRY BACON (American, 1839-1912) “TRUTH AT THE WELL – VENICE SERIES #37”. Fine watercolor shows nude sitting on well with hand mirror in belt at waist. Finger is to lips gesturing to be quiet. Two buckets and rope at side of well head. Signed lower left “Henry Bacon”. Paper on back indicates exhibited at the National Gallery of Art April 1931. Well framed (replacement) and double matted with inner gold liner. SIGHT SIZE: 15” x 10-1/2”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-94282 (2,250-2,750)
