FINE LIMOGES HAND PAINTED GILT HEIGHTENED FISH SET, LATE 19TH CENTURY. Consisting of an oval serving platter with pierced grips, a sauce boat with undertray, and twelve dinner plates, each decorated with an aquatic scene centering a freshwater fish. All with scalloped gilt edges. Each marked “Limoges France” in green under glaze and with an additional ochre stamp over glaze. SIZE: serving platter-24”l x 10”w, plates- 9-1/2” dia. CONDITION: Minor gilding losses throughout, repair to edge of sauceboat undertray, noticeable repair to edge of one plate, no other repairs or restoration noted. 9-74636 MD (1,000-1,500)
