SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1873 TRAPDOOR CARBINE. Cal 45-70. SN 187121. Nickel plated standard carbine obviously made into a parade rifle with 22” bbl, square base front sight and ski jump rear sight. It has a 1-pc stock with sling bar and ring on left side and a carbine butt with trap. The SN is followed with a star. CONDITION: Fine, as noted. Retains about 95% nickel plating. Lockplate legends were polished away. Wood is sound and retains a fine hand rubbed patina. Very dark corroded bore from shooting blanks. Good mechanics. Missing the hammer screw. 4-50763 JR65 (300-500)
