LOT OF 2 PLANT CUP FIRE REVOLVER. 1) Cal. .42. SN 6367. 5-5/8″ ribbed oct bbl. The cylinder pin is an incorrect replacement. Marked “PLANT’S MFG. CO. NEW…” on top of the bbl rib. The Merwin & Bray marking on the side of the bbl is also obscured by pitting. The ejector rod is a replacement and the rear of the housing has been modified for the replacement part. 2) Cal. .42. SN 1043. 6″ ribbed oct bbl. The markings on the bbl and cylinder are all readable. The cylinder pin catch spring is an oversized replacement, causing the pin to jam. The caliber has been changed to Centerfire with the addition of an iron plate riveted across the front of the standing breech. The firing pin nose has been ground to strike this in the center. CONDITION: 1) Reblued over moderate pitting. The frame also has pitting. The grips are cracked with chips missing at the base. Mechanically needs work. 2) Rust brown patina with light pitting on iron parts. The brass has a mellow patina. The grips are heavily worn at the base with minor chips.
