ATTRIBUTED TO BENJAMIN CHAMPNEY (American, 1817-1907) NEW ENGLAND FOOTHILLS. Oil on canvas landscape shows a small brook running through a meadow lined with large trees with rolling foothills beyond. A light blue and white cloud sky. Unsigned. Housed in a good period gesso decorated gilt frame. “Champney” in pencil in written on back of frame. SIZE: 18″ x 30″.
