MOSER DECORATED SALAMANDER VASE. Lovely Moser vase is blown in light blue glass with an applied gilded rigaree lip and two gilded rigaree bands around the body. Central decoration is an applied salamander with gilded body having red and blue enameled spots with white speckling covering the entire body. The salamander rests among brightly enameled oak leaves and gilded stems which encircle the entire body and foot. Oak leaf decoration is further enhanced by numerous applied acorns. There are two enameled insects on each side of the salamander. Unsigned. SIZE: 9-1/2″ t. PROVENANCE: From a private Midwest Collection. CONDITION: Very good with a short section of the salamander’s tail missing and two acorns that appear to have been reattached. 5-64257 (1,000-1,500)
