WANETA PHELPS (British, 19th/20th Century) YOUNG GIRL AND HER KITTEN. Miniature on ivory scene shows a young girl with long blond hair and pink/white nightgown holding a black and white kitten in her lap. The girl’s head is up and she smiles fondly at the kitten. She is seen in a red upholstered chair with a green background. Signed lower left Waneta Phelps, Paris, 1900″. Housed in what appears to be its original small shadowbox black frame with gold liner and glass. SIZE: Sight: 4-1/2″ x 3-1/2″. CONDITION: There is a vertical crack approximately 1″ from right border through image and a small 1-1/2″ crack at bottom center. Otherwise very good as the cracks are tight and not lifted. 9-92926 (500-600)
