Illustration shows Ruth leaning down gathering grasses while in back men and oxen barter and work. Signed lower right “Joseph Watson Little”. Housed in a fancy white and gilt gesso decorated frame. Accompanying lot is a similarly framed print proof for the cover of the American Weekly. PROVENANCE: Purchased from warehouse at San Simeon out of the William Randolph Hearst St. Estate May 11th, 1965. San Simeon inventory No. 3143. SIZE: 30” x 22”.
