SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1888 TRAPDOOR RIFLE WITH RAMROD BAYONET. Cal. 45-70. SN 534428. 32-5/8” rnd bbl. Standard Springfield markings on lockplate and breechblock. “SWP” cartouche dated 1891 on left side of stock. CONDITION: Very fine. 90% blue on bbl and bbl bands, 70% on lockplate, trigger guard, and buttplate. Casehardening has mostly silvered out on top of breechblock, but is bright underneath and on tang. Stock has minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. 4-59065 (1,500-2,000)
