NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND SHERATON BIRD’S-EYE AND TIGER MAPLE INLAID TWO-DRAWER STAND. Circa 1830. Possibly Vermont or upper New York State. The square tray top with applied edges projecting above the conforming frieze fitted with two drawers, the original knobs with marquetry star inlays, raised on ropetwist swelled cylindrical legs headed by carved pineapple turnings, the feet similarly carved, terminating in brass-capped casters, the whole constructed of bird’s-eye, tiger, and figured maple. SIZE: Top: 22″ x 21-5/8″. 30″ h. CONDITION: This nice example appears to retain all original features and finish, clean. One drawer bottom has been replaced with chestnut, otherwise all appears original. 9-92587 (2,750-3,250)
