A PEWTER “GLOCKENKANN” DATED 1775, A TWO HANDLED LOVING CUP, A CAST IRON “PRISMKANN” AND A PHILADELPHIA PEWTER PLATE. 18th and 19th Century. The Glockenkann an 18th century tankard with removable ring handled lid, of cylindrical form with faceted lidded spout, above incised scrolled floral decorations, the side with an applied cartouche inscribed with the initials “HBE” above the date of 1775,possibly Swiss or German. A later two handled loving cup decorated overall with repousse floral decoration on a footed rim.The cast iron “Prismkann” of swelled form marked with a molded cartouche the text indecipherable. We believe this possibly to be a mold for a pewter pot. The pewter plate by the Philadephia pewterer B. Barnes. SIZE: Height of first 12 1/2″. Diameter of plate 11″. CONDITION: The tankard in nice condition overall, ring handle probably reapplied to lid. The loving cup with damages to both handles at body of cup. The cast iron pot a primitive example with rusting on footrim. The plate with two inch repair to hole in center. 9-91842 (250-400)
