JOSEPH THORS (British, 1843-1898) “AT TRING BUCKS”. Oil on wood panel scene shows a landscape with figures and wooded countryside. A farmhouse in the middle distance and a lane winding past a pond in the left foreground towards the right. A boy on a horse is seen traveling the road. Signed lower right “J. Thors”. Housed in a modern gesso decorated gilt frame. An old label on back with alternate title “Landscape with Figures”. Attached to back of frame is what appears to be the original wood artist tag. SIZE: 14” x 21”. CONDITION: Very good with some inpainting. 9-27353 (2000-4000)
