FREDERICK MORTIMER LAMB (American, 1861-1936) TREE LINED ROAD AT SUNSET. Oil on board scene shows a dirt road lined with tall trees and rock walls. A colorful sunset is seen beyond the woods with darkening sky. Signed lower left “F.M. Lamb”. Back of board is written “Bought from my old teacher Mort. Lamb when I was 16 years old. Paid 60 dollars, I give it to my granddaughter Marina …”. Housed in a period gilt carved wood frame by Walfred Thulin and having a carved signature dated 1923. SIZE: 17″ x 10-1/2″. CONDITION: Scratch to bottom edge, generally very good. Edge chips to where frame nails contacted board. 9-91281 (1,200-1,800)
