PHILADELPHIA CHIPPENDALE CARVED MAHOGANY SIDE CHAIR. Circa 1780. The serpentine crest rail with upturned ears above the pierced splat joined to the trapezoidal molded slip seat rail with arcaded apron raised on frontal cabriole legs with shaped returns terminating in ball and claw feet the cylindrical raked rear legs tenoned. SIZE: 38″ h. of back x 17″ h. of seat. CONDITION: Professionally restored and repolished with repairs to proper right rear leg at rail and repairs to shoe at splat. Otherwise very good condition with nice color with original glue blocks. 9-91917 (800-1,200)
