PENNSYLVANIA COUNTRY SHERATON CHERRY AND SYCAMORE TALL CASE CLOCK. Circa 1850. Back of dial and back of works signed in script. The dovetailed hood with swan’s-neck pediment and brass terminals centering three urn finials, the bonnet with arched door flanked by free-standing columns opening to the tin face marked with Roman numeral, seconds, and calendar chapterings within rose-decorated spandrels surmounted by a rose spray with bird. The brass movement time and strike. The waisted case with paneled door joined to the cove-molded box space, raised on turned turnip feet. SIZE: 95″ h. x 12″ throat w. x 20″ overall w. x 11″ overall d. CONDITION: The case structurally in fine condition, the works in need of cleaning; the face has creasing, denting and paint loss between the 1 and 3 continuing to the proper left upper corner of face.
