UNSIGNED (European, 18th/19th Century) WARRIORS IN BATTLE. Outstanding oil on canvas battle scene shows a close quarter battle between helmeted warriors against soldiers without helmets wearing white robes with red sashes. Two helmeted soldiers are atop white stallions and there are red flags on spear topped poles. A mountain and river valley landscape is beyond under pink to light blue sky. Housed in an antique gesso decorated gold frame. SIZE: 29-3/4″ x 21-3/4″. PROVENANCE: From a large Boston, MA area Estate. CONDITION: Very good, craquelure with small old 1″ slit in canvas in sky. 9-99290 (2,000-3,000)
