ANCIENT EGYPTIAN STATUE. Small original Egyptian Shawabti (funeral figure resembling a miniature mummy) fashioned of bright turquoise glazed faience decorated in black. From the XXII Dynasty (945-853 B.C.) The black ornamentation includes an inscription from the Book of the Dead and a simulated tool bag which hangs down from the left shoulder of the figure.
