MILDRED C JONES (American, 1899-1992) TWO WORKS: LAKE ATITLAN, GUATEMALA AND YELLOW DAFFODILS. 1) Oil on canvas scene shows a Native Guatemalan women with a young child slung over her back in a papoose type holder. They walk down through a cornfield to the lake below with mountains in the background. Signed lower right. Housed in a wide stained molded wood frame. 2) Oil on canvas still life shows a vase of yellow daffodils and white blossoming branches. Signed lower right. Housed in a modern gilt and white painted frame. SIZE: 1) 24″ x 30″. 2) 20″ x 16″. PROVENANCE: Collection of Elwyn Dearborn, Medford, NJ & Portland, ME.
