FRANK HENRY SHAPLIEGH (American 1842-1906) “FRANCONIA MOUNTAINS FROM NORTH WOODSTOCK”. Oil on canvas New Hampshire panoramic scene shows Franconia Notch with the valley leading to a river winding through fields and woods having a rock and sandy banks. A 2-1/2 story farmhouse with barn is seen on the left side. All under blue and white cloud sky. Signed lower right “F H Shapleigh 1878″. Housed in a gilt wood frame with gilt liner. Titled on reverse of canvas with signature. SIZE: 14″ x 24”. CONDITION: Craquelure, two old canvas patches to reverse with corresponding inpainting. Good. 9-99993 (2,500-4,500)
