G. ARGY ROUSSEAU EAGLE BOWL ON FOOT. Lovely pate de verre bowl has body of cream colored glass with purple and mauve internal decoration and a decorative band at the lip of eagles in flight against a background of stylized green and brown flowers. The foot is also decorated with a band of stylized flowers. Signed on the side with impressed “G. Argy-Rousseau”. The bowl is pictured in G. Argy-Rousseau: Glassware As Art by Janine Bloch-Dermant, in the Catalogue Raisonne section, page 189, fig. 22.10. SIZE: 6″ dia x 3-3/4″ t. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 5-68669 (4,000-5,000)
