*HAMILTON MODEL 27 SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal. 22. NSN. Tiny, unusual little rifle that was frequently awarded as merchandise coupon prizes in the WWI era. It has 16” bbl with fixed original sights, stamped sheet metal receiver and serpentine trigger guard/grip. The bbl is constructed of an iron core in a sheet metal tube. Rotating the breechblock allows the bbl to tip down for loading and extracting. It has tiny slab forearm and buttstock without buttplate. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Metal, overall, retains about 90% strong bright original blue with scattered light surface rust. Wood is sound and retains most of its original varnish finish. Usual light nicks and scratches, mechanics are fine, strong frosty bore. 4-52894 JR395 (250-400)
