NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER SIGNED HANNAH HAYDEN, UNION SCHOOL, TRENTON, MAY 28 1810. Executed in a variety of green, brown, beige, and blue stitchery on a linen ground with lines of alphabet, “Anno Domini 1810”, above a row of unusual slanting waves of stitchery over additional alphabet lines, two in script, and an additional alphabet line of “buttonhole” stitchery. The last line woven in brown reading, “Hannah Hayden Union School Trenton May 28 1810″, the border woven in scrolling berry vinery with perching birds. SIZE: Sight: 15-3/4″ x 16-1/4”. CONDITION: Structurally very good, with overall fading, some staining. Mounted in a later frame. 9-91744 (500-1,000)
