JEAN DIDIER DEBUT (French, 1824-1893) AMPHITRITE THE SEA GODDESS. Large 19th Century bronze figural group shows a partial nude standing woman with arm upstretched holding a swath of cloth. She stands with one leg forward in a large scallop shell which rests on two dolphin fish. Two full putti are beside her. All resting on a round molded edge bronze base. Signed on the bottom side “Debut”. PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Maria, M. Viveiros of New Bedford, Massachusetts. SIZE: 30” h. CONDITION: Some light scratches to patina surface, otherwise very good. 9-28796 (1000-2000)
