*CASED SPECTACULAR CUSTOM GRADE WINCHESTER MODEL 21 DBL BBL SHOTGUN 2-BBL SET. Cal. 20 ga. & 28 ga. SN 31134. Fine, flatside ’21’ with 26″ 20 ga. bbls & 28″ 28 ga. bbls, both sets of bbls choked MOD/IMP-CYL. Both sets of bbls have tapered concave matted ribs with Bradley ivory front bead & ivory middle beads with ejectors & gold plated sgl selective trigger. Breech ends of ribs have panels inscribed “CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER”. Receiver, trigger guard, opening lever & forend iron have “21-1″ engraving patterns. Mounted with very nicely figured, flame grain, American walnut with deluxe checkered, field style, beavertail forearm with straight stock, 14-1/2” over a leather covered pad. There is a blank gold oval on bottom. Accompanied by a Galazan style, brown leather, maroon felt-lined, trunk case compartmented for stocked receiver & one set of bbls with 28 ga. snap caps, square oil bottle, 2-pc ebony cleaning rod & tools with its orig salmon colored canvas & leather cover. Also accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying this shotgun, gage not indicated & only one set of bbls mentioned. It specifies “no engraving”& a skeet style beavertail forearm with shipping date July 19, 1968. Drop at heel: 1-3/4″, drop at comb: 1-3/8”. Bore restrictions: 20 ga. bbls: left – .010, right – .004; 28 ga. bbls: left – .019, right – .012; Wall thickness: 20 ga. bbls: left – .033, right – .026; unable to gage wall thickness for 28 ga. bbls. Bore diameter: 20 ga. bbls: left – .607, right – .614; 28 ga. bbls: left – .532, right – .543. Weight with 20 ga. bbls: 6 lbs. 8.96 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain virtually all of their strong bright orig factory blue. Receiver also retains virtually all of its strong bright orig factory blue with evidence of having been fired & minor scrapes on standing breech. Rear end of forend iron shows light wear. Wood is sound & retains virtually all of its orig factory varnish with a small scratch on left side of buttstock. Crisp mechanics, brilliant shiny bores.
