*SPECTACULAR CUSTOM RUGER NO. 1 SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. SN 132-63404. Cal. 7×57. 22″ rnd bbl with banded ramped front sight fixed blade with gold bead, bbl band swivel, quarter-rib with sgl folding blade, cut for tally, lever rings. Mounted with spectacular piece of exhibition walnut, 90-degree ebony forend tip, full wrap-around multi-point checkered forend with engraved oval escutcheon. Sculpted raised panels on each side of action & the bottom. Buttstock has matching raised sculpted side panels with multi-point wrap-around checkering through pistol grip with engraved sculpted grip cap, straight comb with shadow-line cheekpiece, checkered steel butt plate & screwless inlet pedestal sling swivel base. This spectacular custom rifle is the combined effort of David Talley, metalsmith, Don Kline, stockmaker, & Ray Viramontez, engraver. It’s very difficult to describe all the fine details of this magnificent 6-3/4 lb. rifle: the small touches of rebating the frame for both forend and buttstock; the incredibly well-fit custom inlet safety button; the magnificent foliate arabesque scroll with polished background on both sides of receiver, with accent scrollwork on grip cap, forward portion of lever, forend escutcheon & screw, and scope rings; and the flow that pulls this spectacular rifle together. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Appears to be virtually new since completion. Bbl, quarter-rib & top of receiver are a near-flawless matte blue with polished sides. Bottom of receiver is also matte, as well as trigger guard & sides of lever, with polish on bottom. Checkering is a very fine multi-point pattern & the finish on this great piece of wood is a fine hand-rubbed oil. Mechanics are crisp, with a bright new shiny bore. 4-33890 BDT79 (12,000-16,000)
