*FINE L.C. SMITH FIELD GRADE LIGHTWEIGHT DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 410. SN FW120970. Beautiful lightweight little gun with 28″ bbls choked FULL/FULL with flat tapered matted rib, sgl bead, crossbolt rib extension, extractor & dbl triggers. Receiver & lockplates are undecorated & have maker’s name on each side. Mounted with nicely figured straight grain American walnut with checkered splinter forearm & capped semi-pistol grip stock, 14″ over a serrated hard rubber buttplate. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter fully identifying this shotgun, made for the Sutcliffe Company & shipped Oct. 21, 1929. Drop at heel: 2-3/4″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Unable to gage bore restrictions & wall thickness. Bore diameter: left – .382, right – .393. Weight: 5 lbs. 13.12 oz. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine. Bbls retain 96-97% strong orig blue with some slight dulling over forearm area. Receiver & lockplates retain virtually all of their bright factory orig case colors, slightly faded, more so on bottom. Trigger guard retains about 93-95% bright orig blue. Wood is sound with a few minor nicks in varnish, otherwise retains virtually all of its orig factory finish with some slight heat crazing on buttstock.
