*MARLIN MODEL 1898 “C” GRADE PUMP SHOTGUN. Cal 12 ga. SN 60719. Usual configuration with 30” plain full choke bbl, nicely figured wood with small round checkered forearm and checkered pistol grip stock with “S” grip and hard rubber buttplate. The receiver is beautifully engraved with a large vignette of 5 flying ducks on the left side and 2 flying pigeons on the right side of the bolt, all surrounded by light arabesque patterns. The bbl has the number “65231”. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl and receiver retain 80-85% original blue, dull and thin on the bbl, thin and bright on the receiver. Wood is sound and retains 93-95% strong bright varnish, showing moderate to heavy wear in the checkering. Buttplate is missing a long chip from the toe. Bright shiny bore. 4-50774 JR53 (1,500-2,500)
