*WONDERFUL CASED CUSTOM WINCHESTER DBL BBL SHOTGUN 2-BBL SET. Cal. 20 ga. SN 14629. Custom engraved in Grand American style, this beautiful shotgun has two sets of bbls, both 26″, numbered “1” and “2”. Number “1” bbls are choked MOD/IMP-CYL and number “2” bbls are choked WS1/WS2. Both bbls have tapered concave matted rib with ivory front bead & silver center bead with ejectors & sgl selective trigger. Each bbl is fitted with a black insert beavertail forearm. Flat side receiver is beautifully engraved with full coverage Grand American style engraving consisting of large vignettes of a gold setter & woodcock on left side, a gold pointer & grouse on right side with two gold pheasants on floorplate and a gold spaniel head on trigger bow. All surrounded by very fine nicely executed foliate arabesque patterns with relief engraved oak leaf & acorns on fences. Top tang has serial number in gold with a gold plated trigger & “L” and “R” on either side of trigger with gold arrows. Engraving patterns extend 3-1/4″ over chambers of bbls. Water table, standing breech, bbl flats, lugs, ejectors & forend irons are nicely jeweled. Mounted with very highly figured exhibition grade, shell grain American walnut with matching forends carved & checkered in “21-B” style with straight stock, 14-1/2″ over a checkered butt. Accompanied by a small note dated 8-15-01 which states that this shotgun “was commissioned by Billy Lark of Georgia in the late 70’s”. Note further states that the work was done by orig Winchester craftsmen on their own time. It is signed “Ronald English”. Also accompanied by a green felt lined leather trunk case with a 3-pc cleaning rod & gold plated snap caps. Also accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying this shotgun as field grade with field finish & only one set of bbls with Winchester pad, completing inspection on Aug. 18, 1953. Drop at heel: 2-1/8″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Bore restrictions: Bbl #1: left – .014, right – .010. Bbl #2: left – .007, right – .002. Wall thickness: Bbl #1: left – .030, right – .034. Bbl #2: left – .032, right – .028. Bore diameter: Bbl #1: left – .600, right – .606. Bbl #2: left – .609, right – .630. Weight: 6 lbs. 14.08 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Appears to be unfired since custom upgrading. Retains virtually all of this fine custom finish to both metal & wood with a minor spot or two on both sets of bbls & a small nick or two on wood.
