*BLASER MODEL K77 SIDEPLATE SINGLE SHOT STALKING RIFLE. SN 3/86168. Cal. 7 mm Mag. Rare Dural frame, lightweight stalking rifle with 24-1/4″ tapered rnd lightweight bbl with pedestal mounted front sight & pedestal mounted fixed rear sight. Chamber end of bbl has a special block with a square bridge at chamber end that is mounted with Bock side swinging, return to zero mount & rings containing a Leupold VariX III 3.5-10X-50mm scope. Mounted in spectacular exhibition grade Circassian walnut with schnable tip forearm & pistol grip stock with roachback comb & fluted European style cheekpiece, 14-1/2″ over the orig thin Blaser pad. It has an oval ebony grip cap & there is a toe trap on bottom of stock with recesses for four cartridges. Bottom of bbl has a safari sling mount with a corresponding loop on bottom of stock. Receiver, sidelocks & appended metal are all exquisitely engraved by the famous engraver, Martin Strolz. Left side plate is deep relief chisel engraved with full vignette of a raebuck & three does in a very detailed forest scene. Right side plate is equally beautifully deep relief chisel engraved with the full vignette of two European stags & two hinds all in an extremely detailed woodland scene. Bottom of receiver has the deep relief chisel engraved vignette of two Big Horn sheep in a forested mountain scene. Balance of receiver, trigger guard, forend iron, opening lever & top tang are also beautifully deep relief chisel engraved with intertwined foliate arabesque patterns with dark stippled background. Chamber area of bbl, front scope block, front & rear sights are also beautifully engraved in lighter style with matching patterns and have decorative gold wire inlay. Martin Strolz is a world-renown Austrian engraver, only thirty years old but with sixteen years training & experience. He has both studied & taught at some of Austria’s & Germany’s most famous engraving schools and has done work for a number of Austria’s most famous makers as well as private commissions. His work has been published in a number of European & American publications. Accompanied by a letter from Mr. Strolz, dated 2005, to the consignor, all in German. Also accompanied by a CD of Mr. Strolz’ work. CONDITION: Extraordinarily fine, as new, probably unfired since engraving. Receiver, trigger guard, forend iron & toe trap retain about all of their fine alloy finish. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore, crisp optics. 4-35549 JR449 (10,000-15,000)
