*SPECTACULAR & ULTRA RARE CASED WINCHESTER MODEL 21 DBL BBL SHOTGUN 3-BBL SET. Cal. 20 ga., 28 ga. & 410. SN 13242. This rare set, one of only two known, was built originally in 1950 as a 20 ga. & in 1976 was returned for upgrade enhancement and the extra bbls. The 20 ga. bbls are 28″ choked WS1/WS2, the 28 ga. & 410 bbls are 26″ with the 28 ga. bbls choked SKEET/SKEET & the 410 bbls choked IMP-MOD/IMP-CYL. All three bbls have ventilated rib with red ivory Bradley front beads with silver middle beads on 20 ga. bbls & ivory middle beads on the 28 ga. & 410 bbls. All have ejectors & receiver has a gold-plated sgl selective trigger. Ribs all have a milled recess with “CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER” in gold & calibers are inlaid in gold in a recess at end of rib. 28 ga. & 410 bbls have a narrow gold band near muzzle. Receiver & all exposed metal parts have full coverage extremely fine foliate arabesque patterns with vignettes of a woodcock on left side, a partridge on right side, both in gold & a standing spaniel on trigger plate with a spaniel’s head on trigger bow. Top tang has serial number & “SAFE” in gold & trigger plate has “L” & “R” with arrows in gold on either side of trigger. Engraving patterns extend about 2″ over chamber areas on all three bbls. This extraordinary engraving was done by John Kusmit & is signed on trigger plate just in front of trigger guard. Metal grip cap is also fully engraved with three gold wire borders & was designed & engraved by Mr. Kusmit. Mounted with spectacular flame grain American walnut with three black insert beavertail forearms carved in “21-B” style. It has a pistol grip stock, 14-3/4″ over orig round edge leather covered pad. Accompanied by a packet of orig information including a Cody Firearms Museum letter fully identifying this shotgun along with numerous letters & information from Winchester to the individual who originally commissioned the work on this shotgun. Also included are the orig smoke pulls from Mr. Kusmit. There are also numerous photographs of this shotgun in production. Also included are all of the orig work orders. This is one of the best documented Model 21’s in existence. It is also accompanied by its orig, Winchester, brown leather, maroon felt lined, trunk case with canvas cover embossed in gold on both case & cover “D.H.P.”, initials of Mr. Dell Page of Southfield, Michigan, the gentleman who commissioned the work. Drop at heel: 2″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Bore restrictions: 20 ga.: left – .013, right – .004; 28 ga.: left – .011, right – .010; 410: unable to measure . Wall thickness: 20 ga.: left – .027, right – .024; 28 ga: & 410: unable to measure. Bore diameter: 20 ga.: left – .598, right – .630; 28 ga.: left – .541, right – .541; 410: left – .398, right – .405. Weight w/20 ga. bbls: 7 lbs. 4.16 oz. CONDITION: Extraordinarily fine. As new, does not appear to have ever been fired. Retains virtually all of its fine orig factory finish to both metal & wood. Stock has a small surface scratch on left side with one or two other minor handling marks. Mechanics are crisp with brilliant shiny bores.
