LEON KROLL (American, 1884-1974) “ISABEL AND MARIE CLAUDE”. Oil on paper outdoor scene shows a woman with white bathrobe standing next to a young girl in summer red dress with flower decorated hat. The young girl has an open book in her lap. The background is a pink flower field leading to trees and water. Unsigned. Housed in a fine French style scallop decorated partial gilt frame with gilt liner. A label on reverse indicates the title and that these two people were Kroll’s favorite model and his granddaughter. SIZE: 21-1/2″ x 14-1/2″. PROVENANCE: The provenance as indicated on back label is listed as the Sid Deutch Gallery: Owings Dewey Fine Art of Santa Fe: Christies, New York: A private collector, Maine.
