*SCARCE WINCHESTER MODEL 42 TRAP GRADE RESTORED. SN 31579. Cal 410. 26″ bbl with matted solid rib, sgl silver sighting bead, 3″ chamber, FULL choke. Left side of bbl is marked “WINCHESTER/PROOF STEEL-MODEL 42-WINCHESTER/TRADEMARK-.410-3 IN FULL” and “WP” proof mark. Right side of bbl is marked “MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN. CONN.-U.S.A. PAT. NO. 1912403-1969255”. Standard receiver with serrated top with SN in proper forward position and “TRAP” below it. Mounted in nicely figured walnut, checkered straight grip with sgl diamond, Winchester hard rubber buttplate, dbl diamond checkered skeet style forend. Bore measurements are not available for 410. Drop at heel: 2-7/16″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″, weight 6lbs 4oz. and LOP 14″. Accompanying gun is a copy of a hand written note dated 11-15-2009 from the Tulsa Gun Show written by Don Combs identifying gun by SN and states the fact he believes the gun to be an orig trap grade refurbished outside of the factory. CONDITION: Extremely fine as restored. Bbl retains most of what appears to be factory rust blue with just a few minor light marks and crisp markings. Receiver is correctly polished with a factory quality restored blue and shows just a few tiny handling marks. Stock is sound with good checkering, a few minor handling marks and shows a restored factory type finish. Forend is sound with good checkering, a few minor nicks & dings, and has matching factory type finish as buttstock. Mechanics are crisp with a nice shiny bore. 4-40089 BDT66 (7,500-10,500)
