*WINCHESTER PREWAR MODEL 42 FIELD GRADE WITH SOLID RIB. SN 32057. Cal. .410, 26″ bbl, matted, tapered solid rib, single silver sighting bead, FULL choke and 3″ chamber. Left side of bbl is marked “WINCHESTER / PROOF STEEL-MODEL 42-WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK-.410-3 IN FULL”. Right side marked “MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN. CONN.-U.S.A. PAT. NO. 1912403-196925″. WP proof marks are found left side of rib and top center of receiver. Standard receiver with concave matted top. Mounted with nicely figured straight grain walnut, uncheckered pistol grip, Winchester hard rubber buttplate, 18 ring field forend. Bore measurements are NA. Drop at heel: 2-1/2″, Drop at comb: 1-9/16″, Weight: 6lbs. 0oz. LOP 13-7/8”. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl and mag tube retain much of their orig blue with minor muzzle wear, normal minor nicks & dings and usual rub marks from pumping the action. Receiver retains strong orig blue with some areas that have flaked and blended with brown patina, two small spots on top of shallow rust that have been cleaned and lightly silvering on sharp edges. Stock is sound with normal nicks, dings & small handling marks retaining most of its orig finish. Forend is sound with some minor handling marks and retains most of its orig finish.
