*RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 42 2-1/2″ SKEET WITH SOLID RIB. SN 71266. Cal. .410, 28″ bbl with matted, tapered solid rib, single silver sighting bead, SKEET choke and 2-1/2″ chamber. Left side of bbl is marked “MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S. OF AMERICA / WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL – WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK – MODEL 42 – 410 – 2-1/2IN. CHAM.” “SKEET” is marked adjacent to receiver ring with WP proof above it and top center of receiver. Standard receiver mounted with nicely figured walnut, checkered pistol grip, hard rubber Winchester grip cap, hard rubber Winchester buttplate, skeet forend with checkered side panels. Bore measurements are NA. Drop at heel: 2-3/8″, Drop at comb: 1-1/2″, Weight: 6lbs. 5oz., LOP 13-7/8″. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl retains 98% orig blue with a few minor nicks & scratches and thin rub line from forend. Receiver retains 98% orig blue with a couple minor scratches and rub mark on forward edge from forend. Just starting to show bright on sharp edges. Stock is sound with very nice checkering, a few minor handling marks and retains high-gloss orig finish. Forend is sound with some minor handling marks, good checkering and retains high-gloss orig finish.
