UNUSUAL CHINESE CLOISONNE GARDEN LAMP. 2nd half 19th century. Now electrified. In two parts, the upper section of pagoda form surmounted by a sphere set within a blooming lotus. The six-sided roof with cloisonne tiles emitting curved elements, each suspending an ornamental bronze bell. Beneath the roof is a open-work sphere of cloisonne floral vinery now enclosing an electrical fixture, fitted to the lower base of a cloisonne font joined to an arrangement of three bronze elephant busts standing on a circular plinth on a conforming cloisonne base. SIZE: 35″ h x 16″ dia. CONDITION: Overall very good with original surfaces and nice patina. Cloisonne in good condition. Minor losses to end of elephant tusk and to sphere of spire. 9-22322 (1,200-1,500)
