*DESIRABLE ITHACA NID 5E GRADE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 457461. Cal. 12 ga. 32″ matted tapered vent rib bbls, dual ivory sighting beads, MOD/FULL choke, 2-3/4″ chambers, Miller sgl selective trigger and ejectors. Chamber end of bbls have narrow band of scroll engraving. Receiver with cocking indicators is usual grade “5” engraved with foliate scroll, with stippled background, oval with gold pheasant on left side, oval with gold woodcock on right side, spread wing eagle clutching arrows over “MADE IN U.S.A.” on bottom center and top of trigger plate engraved “ITHACA GUN CO., ITHACA,N.Y.” with remainder bold foliate scroll with stipple background. Mounted with nicely figured flame grain walnut, sculpted checkered side panels, fleur-de-lis checkered pistol grip with black hard rubber grip cap, Silvers style recoil pad, blank gold shield, fleur-de-lis checkered beavertail forend with ebony tip insert. Bore diameter: left -.734, right -.733. Bore restrictions: left -.038, right -.025. Wall thickness: left -.030, right -.030. Drop at heel: 1-15/16″, drop at comb: 1-5/8″. Weight: 8lbs. 6oz. LOP 13-7/8″. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains nearly all of a fine probably factory quality restored blue finish, minor wear at muzzle, a few minor handling marks, and faint rub marks from forend. Receiver retains orig case colors, strong in protected areas, with balance blending with a soft gray patina. Stock is sound with good checkering, some minor handling marks and retains orig finish with spider webbing and a few hairline cracks in finish. Forend is sound with good checkering, some minor nicks & dings, a hairline grain crack at release, spider web orig finish blending with some hand worn patina.
