SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1841 CADET MUSKET WITH BAYONET. Cal. 58. NSN. 40” rnd bbl. Only 450 of these were made. Standard Springfield markings dated 1844 on lock and bbl tang. No inspector cartouches. 14-1/2” bayonet is marked “US” at base. CONDITION: Retains almost all of the refinished brown on bbl with scattered light pitting on lockplate. Wood has been lightly cleaned with sharp edges resulting. Bayonet is fine with some brown on socket. Mechanically fine. Edwards Collection 4-58432 FS132 (2,000-3,000)
