*EARLY COLT MODEL 1911 MILITARY PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. Blued finish with 5” bbl, last patent date 1911 with thin front sight and rounded rear sight. It has full checkered large diamond walnut grips and a 2-tone lanyard-loop magazine. There is the number 1156 on the right rear side of the frame and it has the small United States property on the left forward edge of the frame. SN 26027. CONDITION: Very fine, the slide retains 94-96% strong bright original blue with muzzle and edge wear and a few scattered white spots and two or three small nicks. The front sight has had the top flattened and the rear sight slightly opened. The frame retains 92-94% strong bright original blue with edge wear and thin grip frame with a small spot of patina on the left forward part of the frame. Grips show moderate wear, more on the right side with one battered grip screw. Bbl is a commercial replacement, otherwise the parts all appear to be original 1911.
