*ENGRAVED WITH GOLD SINGLE CALIBER WINCHESTER MODEL 61 PUMP RIFLE. Cal. 22 WRF. SN 27183. Fine sgl caliber ’61 with 24″ tapered oct bbl, standard sights, full magazine with extremely beautiful & colorful custom Claro walnut with ribbed, bullet shaped forearm & checkered pistol grip stock, 13-1/4″ over a checkered steel buttplate. Receiver is nicely engraved with a very large vignette of a raised gold fox on left side & two raised gold rabbits on right side. Both vignettes have gold wire borders & are surrounded by very well executed foliate arabesque patterns with fine stippled background. Top of receiver & floorplate have light patterns of engraving. There are two gold bands around muzzle. No engraver’s signature was observed but it is believed to be by the engraver “LC”, whose work is signed on other firearms in this auction. CONDITION: Very fine. Retains virtually all of its fine custom finish to both metal & wood. Crisp mechanics, bright shiny bore. 4-55453 JR97 (2,000-3,500)
