WILLIAM LESTER STEVENS (American, 1888-1969) “BOATS & REFLECTIONS”. Gouache on paper scene shows two fishing boats moored side by side near a wharf with building. A schooner sails right to left in blue water in front of the distant shore. Signed bottom right. Housed in a fine carved and gilt modern frame with linen matte and inner gold liner. A wonderful example of Stevens’ work. NOTE: Illustrated in full color on page 19 of The Rockport Art Associations W. Lester Stevens N.A. Retrospective.
