*LOT OF TEXAS RANGER FIREARMS IN A TEXAS MADE CARRYING CASE. (1) Winchester Model 12. Cal. 12 ga.. SN 973659. Riot gun configuration with “US” marked receiver and bbl with both having the Ordnance Corps flaming bomb proof. It has a 20-3/4″ cylinder choke bbl, rnd ribbed forearm and semi-pistol grip stock with Winchester embossed hard rubber buttplate. The left side of the buttstock has the “W.B.” inspector initials and a tiny Ordnance Corps wheel. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Magazine tube & receiver retain about 95% strong bright orig factory blue with some scattered spots of pitting on the right side of the receiver and a few scattered, light, handling marks. Bbl retains about 60% orig blue with several spots of heavy pitting that has been cleaned. Wood is sound and retains 93-95% orig varnish. Crisp mechanics, bright shiny bore.

(2) Winchester Model 07. Cal. 351. SN 48376. Standard grade rifle with 20″ rnd bbl, open sights, uncheckered wood with semi-pistol grip stock and serrated steel buttplate. The buttstock and bbl band have factory sling swivels. Accompanied by one 5-rnd magazine and two orig 10-rd magazines. CONDITION: Very fine. Overall retains 97-98% strong bright orig factory finish to both metal & wood with only slight muzzle edge wear and minor handling marks on the wood with one small bruise. Crisp mechanics, bright shiny bore.

These firearms are housed in an orig Austin, TX made musical instrument style, carrying case with internal mounts for the rifle in the bottom and the shotgun in the lid. The lid also has clips for 12 rnds of shotgun ammunition and the bottom is compartmented for the two 10-rnd magazines. The box is 42″ long x 7-3/4″ wide x 5″ deep, is wood based with black leatherette covering and purple velvet lining. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Exterior is soiled with moderate wear and has a small gouge or two in the lid. Overall is sound with faded lining. Consignor states that this set was carried by Texas Ranger Captain Tom Arnold many years ago. Consignor also states that he has seen other sets like this that were made by a craftsman in the Austin, TX area. A remarkable set that Capt.
