BATTLE DAMAGED HISTORICAL POMEROY MODEL 1840 MUSKET. NSN. Cal. 69. 42” rnd bbl. Converted to percussion using the Belgian method with a nipple screwed directly into bbl. Lockplate is dated 1840. Bbl is dated 1844. Gun has been struck by three bullets, shattering the forearm at the rear bbl band, and approx. 4” in front of and behind the middle bbl band. Large chunks of forearm are missing, as well as the ramrod. Only one hole goes clear through the bbl. Lock is stuck in cocked position. This is a gun with a story to tell. 4-58216 FS11 (1,000-1,500)
