RARE CAST-IRON FIGURAL SMOKER’S STAND. Early 20th century. The cast-iron figure with elongated sheet-metal legs, depicting an Afro-American in red tails, white wing-collar shirt, and black bowtie, “holding” a brass circular tray, canister, and matchbox holder, the figure with sheet-metal pantlegs continuing to wrought iron shoes, the whole on a square cast-iron base. Stamped beneath: “PATENT APPLIED FOR”. SIZE: 35-1/2″ h. x 7-1/2″ sq. base. CONDITION: Very good overall, with original painted surfaces, showing normal wear and paint losses. 9-94335 (800-1,200)
