QING DYNASTY ENAMELED DECORATED COVERED SOUP BOX. 20th century. With Qianlong (1736-1795) six figure seal mark in underglaze blue. Polychrome and gilt decorated overall, the cylindrical box with rondels of exotic birds alternating with floral rosettes within indigo Greek key borders and gold gilt vinery and applied with S-scroll gilt handles. The conforming lid decorated with polychrome floral sprays and with a circular knop finial. SIZE: 6-1/4″ h x 5″ dia. PROVENANCE: From the Private Collection of the Grand Niece of the Last Emperor Puyi (Reign 1906-1917) of the Qing Dynasty. Granddaughter of Puji and Great-Great Granddaughter of the Dowager Empress Cixi (Reign 1861-1908). CONDITION: Very good overall with brilliant coloration. 9-22152 (1,000-1,500)
