*DESIRABLE A.H. FOX XE GRADE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 202077. Cal. 20 ga. 26″ Chromox steel bbls, matted concave rib, dual ivory sighting beads, 2-3/4″ chambers, IMP.CYL/MOD choke, ejectors & dbl triggers. Top of right bbl is marked “CHROMOX FUEL COMPRESSED STEEL” and left “MADE BY A.H. FOX GUN CO. PHILA. PA. USA”. Each chamber are has about 1-3/4″ wedge of bold leafy scroll. The rebated frame is typical “X” engraving with oval with 2 quail on flight on left side with “ANSLEY H. FOX” engraved over and right side with 2 ducks in flight, with “ANSLEY H. FOX” over. Bottom with circle with fox looking up, balance being a bold leafy scroll with shaded background. Mounted with nicely figured walnut, checkered side panels, checkered rnd knob pistol grip, Silvers style recoil pad, checkered forend with schnabel ebony tip insert. Bore diameter: left -.615, right -.615. Bore restrictions: left -.020, right -.004. Wall thickness: left -.039, right -.038. Drop at heel: 2-1/2″, drop at comb: 1-9/16″. Weight: 5lbs. 13oz. LOP 14″. CONDITION: Extremely fine as beautifully restored. Bbls retain virtually all of their fine factory quality restored blue finish with just a few very minor handling marks. Receiver retains 95% of a dark factory quality case colors with just a small amount of silvering through balance area. Stock is sound with nice sharp re-cut checkering, a few minor handling marks and retains a professional hand rubbed oil finish. Forend is sound with nice freshened checkering, a few minor handling marks, and retains a fine professional hand rubbed oil finish.
